Glory of the Past Serie / Cars
Glory of the Past I

Acrylics on canvas board

46x38 cm

This is the first painting of a serie, which idea came from a picture I saw on Instagram of an abandoned porsche of 1956 in a place called "Open-Air Car Museum of Neantertal in Germany. I wanted to make a tribute to all kinds of abandoned vehicles and places all around the world for them to be remembered in time.

Glory of the Past II

Acrylics on canvas board

33x41 cm

This is another painting of a serie, which idea came from a picture I saw on Instagram of an abandoned BMW of 1954 in a place called "Open-Air Car Museum of Neantertal in Germany. I wanted to make a tribute to all kinds of abandoned vehicles and places all around the world for them to be remembered in time.

Glory of the Past III

Acrylics on canvas

50x70 cm

The idea of painting this iconic car came from a request of a friend in form of a challenge. He wanted to see the effect of shiny metallic parts of the delorean in a painting and asked me, if I was capable of doing it. At the end I combined his curiousity with my wish to paint the iconic "Backt-to-the-future" delorean. I imagined a time travel in the past, where humans still not existed, and the driver got lost and stuck in the past forever.

Glory of the Past IV

Acrylics on canvas board

55x46 cm

This painting came to live, because I always wanted to paint a motor bike and I decided to choose the iconic Kawasaki from the TV show "ChiP's" from the 1970's, which I loved to watch as a kid.

This is another personal wish to paint something iconic, and what better than combine my love for space and planes in this theme. Here the Endeavour seems to fly ones more, before retiring, but can't.

Fantasy
The Two Sentinels

Acrylics on canvas

50x70 cm

This piece is the result of a failed, but necessary experience of a en-plein-air painting contest. Once the contest finished, I revisited the painting and this is the result of it. It was sold in less than a day after publishing it on the social media.

Nature
Hercules of Kassel

Acrylics on canvas

81x65 cm

This piece has a special meaning for me, as it is my first big piece using a new type of style, but more because it shows a monument called "Hercules" in a parc of a german city called Kassel, where my mother grew up as a child. This place is connected to my heart and its new owner is from this city.

Cars / Commissions
Citroën 2 CV

30x40 cm

This painting was a commission from a collector, who is a big fan of the Citroën 2 CV of 1950's.

Nature

This painting was made for a special friend and mycologist.

Fantasy / Commissions
The Tree of Life

Acrylics on canvas board,

55x46 cm

This painting was a request for a musician, composer and singer called Jahi Shenu. The idea was to create an cover art for a music LP single. I experimented for the first time painting with luminiscent painting and this is the result.

Wildlife
Leo is going out for a walk

Acrylics on canvas

50x40 cm

This is another favourite piece of mine. I struggled painting the eyes of the young Leopard, as I wanted to catch the exact expression of the animal, which captivated me most.

Nature / Wildlife
Peaceful Morning

Acrylics on canvas board

55x46 cm

I had much pleasure painting this piece, because I combined some references I took, while I visited a deep forest in the heart of Spain, with some fantasy elements.

Cityscape
Past & Present

Watercolour

23x15 cm

This was my first watercolour I really liked and the start of a step further into my way of painting with watercolours.

Cover Art for a poetry book, written by Ana Costa Oliveira, a young talented portuguese poetess.

Commissions / Cityscape
Ribeira de Oporto

Acrylics on canvas

50x70 cm

I enjoyed much painting this piece as a commission, because I love the city of Oporto and because it was the first time I had to paint so many details. I loved this experience and it motivated me to continue painting cityscapes.

Wildlife
Looking at Mankind

Acrylics on canvas

60x73 cm

This piece was by far the most challenging to create. It took about two months to be completed and during the process I wanted to give up many times, but forcing me to continue and see how it progressivelly came to live, motivated me to carry on and now I basically love that piece. It was hard for me to actually sell it, because of the emotional connection to it, but knowing that it is in good hands, reconforts me.
